Miami, Florida, January 22, 2015 – Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services, will be a host sponsor of the 33rd annual Caribbean Travel Marketplace. Organized by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) in conjunction with the Puerto Rico Hotel & Tourism Association and Puerto Rico Tourism Company, the conference will be held January 28-30 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan.
“We are delighted to sponsor CHTA’s largest tourism marketing event of the year,” said Neil Kolton, Interval’s director of resort sales and service for the Caribbean and Florida. “Marketplace gives us the opportunity to make valuable contacts with hotel and resort owners and helps us generate additional vacation opportunities for our members.”
“This conference provides a forum for us to welcome potential international buyers and showcase the variety of the region’s tourism product and richness of its destinations,” said Emil Lee, president of CHTA. “The ongoing support of our strategic partners, including Interval International—the longest-serving partner—has been instrumental in making Marketplace a success.”
Attendees spend two days participating in pre-scheduled business meetings to discuss existing contracts, develop packages, and contract for future business. In 2014, Marketplace confirmed approximately 12,000 business meetings between suppliers and buyers, who represented 20 countries.
The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) facilitates the full potential of the Caribbean hotel and tourism industry by serving members’ needs and building partnerships in a socially responsible and sustainable manner. CHTA is the voice of the Caribbean hospitality industry for the development of the region in the highly competitive and sophisticated environment of international tourism. Today, tourism is widely recognized as a pivotal industry in the economy of the region and CHTA functions as the common denominator for this industry in a region of diverse nationalities, languages and styles, identifying mutual problems and marshaling the resources of the active and allied members to devise solutions.
