London, 12 April 2012 – Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services, and Marriott Vacation Club, a brand of Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation and the leading global pure-play vacation ownership company, recently hosted Shared Ownership Investment Conferences in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These events offered an industry overview to attendees considering entry into the business or conversion of an existing asset.

“Taking our message into the market is a sure way of getting the shared ownership story out,” said Darren Ettridge, Interval’s senior vice president of resort sales and business development for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia (EMEAA). “By collaborating with our strategic partners in the region, we were able to present a well-rounded view of the industry’s potential to prospective entrants.”

In addition to Ettridge, experts who led conference sessions included David Clifton, Interval’s senior executive of business development for EMEAA; Sherif Khalil, Interval’s vice president of resort sales and business development for the Middle East and North Africa; Maurizio Bisicky, Marriott Vacation Club’s regional vice president of sales and marketing for Europe and the Middle East; Al Mohannad Sharafuddin, chief executive of Arabian Falcon Holidays; Ashraf El Zarqa, chief operating officer of Emirates Vacation Club; Dr Khalid Kadfoor Al-Mehairi, chairman of Emirates Advocates and Legal Consultants; and Wahid Attala, chairman of B&G Hotels and Resorts.

Also on the programme were opportunities for delegates to network and learn more about successful sales, marketing, and resort operations from the impressive roster of speakers. Attendees were drawn from across the United Arab Emirates and included hoteliers, real estate and property developers, government officials, and finance company representatives.

Joining Interval and Marriott Vacation Club as platinum sponsors were Arabian Falcon Holidays and Emirates Vacation Club.

Since Interval created the educational series in 1998, conferences have been held in numerous locations around the world. Forthcoming events will be held in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa, in June and Orlando, Florida, in September. For more information, please visit
